The physiology of the electrical system, proarrhythmic effects, and the mechanisms of rhythm generation are reviewed. Clinical Application and Interpretation of the 12-Lead ECG (6.75 CNE)

  • If you have been looking for a practical approach to 12-lead ECG, then this is the session for you. This seminar is designed to enable the bedside professional to simply interpret an ECG and apply it to the clinical setting. Case studies and clinical correlation are included for various conditions such as ischemia, injury, and infarction, electrolyte imbalances, pericarditis and pericardial effusion, hypothermia, pulmonary embolus, and others. The on-line option is especially beneficial for this course because it usually takes more than one time going through 12-Leads before practicing professionals feel like they fully understand interpretation.

Advanced Dysrhythmias (6.75 CNE)

  • This seminar reviews the physiology involved in the electrical system of the heart and then explains the mechanism behind the formation of rhythms. An enhanced understanding of previously learned rhythms will be acquired, and more difficult rhythms will be presented such as AV dissociation, parasystoles, aberration, and rate dependent bundle branch blocks. Pacemaker rhythms will be reviewed, including normal and abnormal biventricular function. In addition, some aspects of 12-Lead ECG interpretation will be reviewed and then applied to the interpretation of supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, including those involving accessory pathways and Brugada syndrome. And, with the on-line option, you can review this session more than once!
